EN 374

EN 374-1 is a European regulation governing the sale of chemical resistant garments. It uses a series of tests to award a glove a rating based on the penetration, degradation and permeation resistance of the garment.

UCi R240 Gloves are a Class A pair of gloves. This means they are resistant to over 6 different chemicals. Please see below for an extensive list:

  • Methanol
  • Sodium Hydroxide (40%)
  • Sulphuric Acid (96%)
  • Nitric Acid (65%)
  • Hydrogen Peroxide (30%)
  • Hydrofluoric Acid (40%)
  • Formaldehyde (37%)

Suitable Applications

As well as being chemically resistant, R240 Gloves have wide scope for use in other professional environments. Below we have compiled a list of applications that suit UCi R240 Gauntlet Gloves:

Innovative Sanitation System

The Sanitized fabric hygiene system helps to reduce the growth and spread of microorganisms that are particularly problematic, such as clostridia and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This is particularly beneficial to work gloves because of the build up sweat and the risk of cross contamination from hand to face throughout the day.

Ultimate Industrial have partnered with Sanitized to reduce this risk and manufacture gloves that not only provide all the protection you'd expect, but that keep your hands hygienic and odour free too.

Phthalate Free Formulation

Phthalate is a chemical added to plastic formulations to increase flexibility and transparency. It is an irritant that can cause harm to sensitive skin. UCi R240 Gauntlet Gloves are 100% phthalate free, meaning if you have an allergy or know it causes irritation to your skin, these gloves are perfect for you.

PVC Coating Benefits

PVC has a number of benefits when used as a glove coating. It is entirely waterproof and forms a thick, shiny layer on the glove that provides great protection against grease, oil and other sticky moistures. This makes PVC the perfect coating for protection against harmful liquids like chemicals and oil.
